Welcome to the Ravens Red Zone!
Welcome to the Ravens Red Zone! And welcome to sportsblognet.com! The greatest sports website in America! I am excited to be here. All of you readers from Baltimore, still probally know me as the guy who wrote the record-setting blog with the Baltimore Sun titled “To the Heck with Pittsburgh”. And what better time to write my first series of Baltimore Ravens blogs than NOW! After all the Ravens are finally one of the most dominant teams in the Red Zone. Facts are facts, and the Ravens have finished ranked 25th or lower in the NFL in Red Zone % in the last 4 years.
Enter the Joe”Wacco”Flacco. He has already proved the 2008 season was no fluke. And with Pittsburgh going from Champions to Losers in a matter of months, the Ravens already have the division in cruise control. And dont forget about that hard hitting season ending defense we have. When offensive players dominate, they usually get taken out. Just ask Titan RB Chris Johnson and Steelers WR Hines Ward about there game ending experiences in the playoffs. Neither was injured by accidental purpose!
There is a reason the Ravens announced publicly when they re-signed Ray Lewis this off-season, that when #52 retires, there will be a statue of him outside of M&T Bank Stadium next to that other Baltimore legend….Johnny Unitas. I am excited to be watching a Raven offense who is finally in the RED ZONE. Gone are the days in which we were forced to watch the fat out of shape Scott Mitchell, who Baltimore newspapers dubbed as “The Water Buffalo” and with his wild- wild west days of using Johnny Unitas jersey #.
The Offensive Guru is “Gone Like the Wind” Brian Billick is better doing Coors Light commercials than calling offensive plays from a playbook he must have gotten from the Fonz who played a Coach in the Adam Sandler football movie WaterBoy. Gone are the days where we had some jittery over-excited QB named Kyle Boller. And gone are the days when we had a washed up RB named Bam Morris.
I am looking forward to covering the Ravens and blogging here. Its going to be a fun year! A year which I believe will end, with the Baltimore Ravens winning there 2nd Super Bowl! Make sure you join me here regularly. Make me a bad habit, make me like nicotine, keep coming back here daily! If there is one promise I make to you readers, its we will have alot of fun here! I will bring you exciting Ravens stories….that only Tim Lumber can bring! Go Ravens!! And its time for you readers to take a step forward….a step into my RAVENS RED ZONE!
